How do I care for my wood door and cabinet surfaces

With proper care, your wood door and cabinet surfaces will retain their attractiveness for years to come. For day-to-day dust and dirt, wipe surfaces with a clean, soft, damp cloth then wipe with a clean, soft, dry cloth. For spills, wipe them up as quickly as possible with a clean soft cloth. For harder to remove dirt and grease, avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners and use mild soap with a soft cloth.

Lacquer and laminate surfaces are very durable. Like with wood surfaces, it is still best to clean lacquer and laminate surfaces with a clean, soft, damp cloth followed by a clean, soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh or abrasive cleaners for harder to clean dirt and grease, and use mild soap with a clean, soft cloth.

With proper installation, tracks and hinges are designed not to require maintenance such as oiling or greasing. However, exposure to excessive moisture can severely reduce the quality of their performance. Be sure to clean any spills immediately with a clean, soft, dry cloth.

Will moisture and humidity affect my wood doors and cabinets?

Quick or dramatic changes in humidity can cause wood to expand and contract, which can damage cabinetry and storage units. It is best to keep humidity levels at approximately 35-40% year round.
